NFL clubs begin on-field preparations for the 2025 season this week.

The Los Angeles Chargers and Detroit Lions  will be the first two clubs with their entire teams on site. Chargers rookies reported on July 12 and veterans reported on July 16. Lions rookies reported on July 16 and veterans will report on July 19. The Los Angeles Chargers and Detroit Lions  are set to meet in the NFL Hall of Fame Game on July 31 (8 p.m. ET, NBC) in Canton, Ohio.

The Dallas Cowboys and defending Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles are set to meet in the league’s annual primetime Kickoff game on Thursday, September 4 (8:20 p.m. ET, NBC). The Cowboys will have their full team on site on July 21, and the Eagles will have their full team on site on July 22.

The Kansas City Chiefs, who will play the Chargers in the NFL’s second regular-season game in Brazil on Friday, September 5 (8 p.m. ET, YouTube/YouTube TV), will also have their entire team on site on July 21. Thirty clubs will have their entire team report by July 22, while Atlanta and Pittsburgh will have players report on July 23.

For the fifth consecutive year, all 32 clubs will kick off training camp by holding practices with club-led fan events. Training Camp: Back Together Weekend Presented by YouTube TV will feature celebrations that will once again span two days – Saturday, July 26 and Sunday, July 27. The on-site and televised event will give fans a first look at their favorite new and veteran players, as well as their team’s roster depth heading into another exciting NFL season.

NFL Network, NFL+, ABC and ESPN will provide complete coverage of all the action, including practices, player interviews, behind-the-scenes moments and fanfests all over the country. Beginning at 9 a.m. ET on July 26 and continuing at noon ET on July 27, NFL Network will provide 17 hours of live coverage over the two days as teams across the league hit the field. Separately, ESPN will provide 5 hours of coverage on July 26, with a three-hour special on ESPN starting at 9 a.m. ET followed by a two-hour special on ABC starting at 1 p.m. ET. NFL Network's “Inside Training Camp” coverage begins Monday, July 28 at noon ET and provides daily coverage of training camps through Wednesday, August 6.

In a growing trend, 29 clubs have scheduled joint practices with other teams, beginning with the Indianapolis Colts and Baltimore Ravens at the Under Armour Performance Center in Owings Mills, Md. and the Los Angeles Rams and the Dallas Cowboys at Staybridge Suites in Oxnard, Calif. on August 5. The Miami Dolphins (with three joint practices) are among the 16 teams that have multiple joint practices scheduled, along with Baltimore, Carolina, Chicago, Cleveland, Denver, Detroit, Green Bay, Houston, Indianapolis, the Los Angeles Rams, New England, San Francisco, Tampa Bay, Tennessee and Washington.

Six clubs will be spending the entirety of camp away from their facilities – Buffalo (St. John Fisher University in Rochester, N.Y.), Dallas (Staybridge Suites in Oxnard, Calif.), Indianapolis (Grand Park in Westfield, Ind.), Kansas City (Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Mo.), the Los Angeles Rams (Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, Calif.) and Pittsburgh (St. Vincent College in Latrobe, Pa.).

Excluding 2020, the 26 clubs (81 percent) that are opting to "stay home" are tied for the most such teams since 2000. Teams considered to be "staying home" hold the majority of camp at their respective practice facility, home stadium or at a site within 10 miles of their team headquarters. In 2000, only 10 of 31 (32 percent) teams stayed close to home.
